What can you do, if you cannot find a job after graduation from a university? Actually, there are multiple things that you can do and I will talk about some of them here.

Tips To Find A Job After Graduation

1. Try To Get A Job From Your First Year (Internships)

First of all, you need to realize that it is much easier to prevent something from happens than later trying to fix it. So if you are still in university start looking for the job right now. Even if you are in your first year, try to get an internship, coop or summer job with an engineering company. Having experience from those temporary positions will significantly increase your chances of landing a job after you graduate.

If you are still in university you have many resources available to you, such as the career center, where you can get help with preparing your résumé and cover letter. Some universities even do mock interviews so that you can practice before you go to the actual one.

2. Attend Career Fairs & Make Connections

Going to career fairs is also a great way to connect with future employers and get to know the industry. On career fair, you can usually ask if the employers are looking to hire someone or what qualifications they are looking for in recruits. It is also a good place to network with people and networking is one of the easiest ways to land a good job. Even after you graduate, continue networking, it will save you from being unemployed.

In many companies before the job is posted managers will ask other employees if they know someone who will be a good fit for the available positions. If one of those people knows that you are looking for the job they will bring your resume to the hiring manager and chances are very high that you will be hired.

3. Expand Your Job Search Criteria To Other Cities

If you already graduated but you didn’t find an engineering job yet, don’t stress out. The last thing you want to do is to worry and feel miserable because it will only lower your chance of getting a job. Just realize that it is going to take some time but you will get a job. Every day spend 8 hours looking for the job by applying online, networking, going to career fairs and cold calling companies.

Don’t limit yourself by applying to the jobs only in your city or state. Apply to the jobs in other places as well. Yes you will probably need to move to do so, but it is not as bad as it looks; you will meet new people, get new experiences and you will learn new things.

4. Launch Your Own Startup (The Best Thing To Do After Graduating)

If you are still jobless after graduating then the best idea is to launch a startup and create opportunities in the market. This might seem odd in the beginning but trust me! Starting your own business in this limited job market is magical. Brainstorm your ideas, consult with others, watch motivational videos and bring something unique that market needs.

Always remember, people/market attracts toward companies or service providers that bring ease in anything. You have several examples like, FOODPANDA, CAREEM, CONSTERIOR, AIRLIFT & Others that bring easiness to their customers in the field of food, transport, CONSTRUCTION & public buses.

So, find the strength hidden inside you and bring out the best because not getting job doesn’t mean you are not talented.
